Financial Discounts Direct was established in 1996 by Alan & Paul Penny. Between them they have over 65 years experience in the financial services industry.
It provides a high quality discount dealing and information service to private investors who wish to make their own investment choices and purchase financial products on favourable terms. The business has grown rapidly and is now one of the leading discount brokers in the UK with over £400,000,000 invested on behalf of more than 35,000 clients.

Alan Penny, Chairman Alan has worked in Financial Services for over 45 years. He has run life assurance companies, both as General Manager and Managing Director and built up a very successful Independent Financial Adviser business before this was purchased by a national IFA organisation. He founded Financial Discounts Direct in 1996 with his son Paul. Although semi-retired, he remains Chairman and still adds his considerable experience to the development of the business. |

Mark Calvert, Operations Director Mark has been in Financial Services for over 20 years, having occupied a number of managerial roles with Guardian Royal Exchange and Old Mutual before joining Financial Discounts Direct in early 2000. He is responsible for the day to day running of the company and is the principal point of contact for the fund management groups. |

Sue Balcer, Administration Director Sue has been with Financial Discounts Direct since its launch in 1996 and has over 20 years’ experience in Financial Services. She manages the new business process from start to finish and coordinates the after-sales service delivery, in particular the Premier Club. |
